BLOOM 2027

For Attendees

IU Students & Mentors

Facilitate, mentor, and connect with the next generation of environmental storytellers in northern Indiana.

BLOOM relies on IU students and mentors to facilitate workshops, sit on pitch panels, and host networking tables. Whether you are an environmental science major, a journalism student, or a graduate researcher, there is a role for you.

Roles

How IU students get involved

Workshop facilitator

Lead or co-lead a workshop session in your area of expertise. Most facilitators are upper-division students, graduate students, or recent alumni.

Pitch session judge

Sit on a panel hearing student story pitches and helping select work that will be matched with a publication mentor.

Networking lunch host

Sit at a topic table during the catered lunch and field student questions about your work and pathway.

Post-conference mentor

Pair with a student after the conference to refine their pitch into a publishable story for YEPT.org.
